Shelmina Abji Scholarship for Women of Color

a. Recipient must be enrolled full time at UW-La Crosse with a STEM-related major
b. Recipient must be a sophomore, junior, or senior;
c. Recipient must be in good academic standing with an above-average grade point average;
d. Recipient must be a woman of color with a preference given to students with an African American, Hispanic, American Indian ethnic background, or an international student;
i. If the committee cannot find a candidate from one of the ethnic backgrounds mentioned above, the committee may select a woman of color from a different ethnic background;
e. In addition to the general application questions, applicants must submit an additional essay regarding her experience in overcoming a challenge or obstacle in life.
