Larry L. Trammell

Larry L. Trammell

Colleagues and friends of Larry Trammell established the Larry Trammel Microbiology Prep Room Scholarship in 2001 upon Larry’s retirement. For 32 years, Larry was known for his reliability and exceptional work in the microbiology prep room, and supervision and training of other prep room employees. In 1988 UWL’s microbiology program was recognized by UW System as a Centers of Excellence. This recognition was largely due to the extensive lab experiences given to its students under the guidance of Larry Trammell.

Larry Trammell served in Vietnam and graduated from UWL in 1971 with a Biology major and Geography minor. Larry passed away on December 6, 2017, at the age of 71, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed traveling, especially to Jamaica and wintering in South Padre Island.
