Janie Morgan
Janie Morgan established the Janie Morgan Alumni Legacy Scholarship in 2018 to support a graduate student who is a UWL alum or they have a family member who is a UWL alum.
Janie is a proud alum of UWL – with a degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education professional development. Morgan spent the first 11 years of her career in healthcare; managing volunteer programs and raising funds for sick and hospitalized children. In 1998, she became the executive director of the UW-L Alumni Association. In that role, she works to support UWL by building and maintaining relationships among students, alumni, friends, and the University. Janie was honored in 2018 for 20 years of “dedication and service” to UWL alumni. Throughout her career, Morgan has managed thousands of volunteers. While she enjoys her work “managing” volunteers, her true love is volunteering herself. Some of her volunteer services include "being a Hospice volunteer, campaign for the United Way, help match Big Brothers and Big Sisters, deliver Mobil Meals, support young women pursuing higher education, raise funds for a new canine dog, pray at St. Rose Convent and sell Kringles just to name a few,” she notes. Janie says all have been rewarding experiences because of the people and the organizations represented. Morgan is surrounded by a loving family and an amazing network of friends. She feels blessed to call La Crosse her home and hopes to continue to make a difference in the lives of those around her.
