Daron James Williams, M.D. Memorial Scholarship in Pre-Medical Studies Fund (CSH)

This scholarship will be awarded to a senior who will be enrolled full-time for the following academic year OR to a graduating senior who meets the following criteria:
Senior
*Recipient must be full time at UW-L and enrolled in the pre-medical curriculum.
*Recipient must be a senior within one year of graduation and has completed or scheduled to take the MCAT exam (provide date and location of exam).
In addition, students are encouraged to take the Kaplan MCAT test preparation course. Applicant must provide information on their intent to enroll in the Kaplan course.
*Recipient must have a GPA of at least 3.75.
*Recipient must provide a personal statement discussing why he/she is pursuing a career in medicine.
*Must provide the names of three faculty for reference who will be asked to complete a survey rating applicant’s potential for success, character, compassion, and suitability for a career in medicine and patient care.
OR

Graduating Senior

*Recipient must be a graduating senior and has applied to or has been accepted to medical school for the upcoming academic year

*Recipient must have earned a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75

*Recipient must provide a personal statement discussing why he/she is pursuing a career in medicine

*Recipient must provide the names of three faculty for reference who will be asked to complete a survey rating applicant’s potential for success, character, compassion, and suitability for a career in medicine and patient care.
