MaryCatherine Batten Award in Teacher Education

• senior to be enrolled full time admitted to the School of Education inc. majors in teacher education, physical education or health education
• one-half of recipients shall be male and one-half of recipients shall be female
• preference first given to students with less than a 3.5 gpa
• selected in terms of humanistic criteria rather than scholastic achievement
• based on sensitivity to student’s individual needs; openness to ideas generated by students; ability to establish trust relationships; demonstration of sense of humor; and compatibility and consistency in managing students
• must display outstanding teaching potential
