Tom & Lindsay Marriottt
Tom & Lindsay Marriott established this scholarship in 2018. Lindsey graduated with a B.S. in Physical Education from UWL and Tom graduated from Carleton College with a B.A. in chemistry. Lindsey taught physical education to 7th-9th-grade students for five years while working toward a master’s degree in physical education at the University of Oregon during the summers. She subsequently taught gymnastics at the local YMCA while raising their family of three sons. Tom was actively involved in drug development for more than 35 years in both large and small pharmaceutical companies and assisted small biotech companies with their early-stage development and regulatory activities. They have a physically disadvantaged nephew who benefits daily from people trained in adapted physical education. As a result, Lindsey and Tom Marriott established a scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled in the Adapted Physical Education Teacher Education Program or the Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) Program, and for graduate students enrolled in the Adapted Physical Education Program.
