Tom and Mary-Alice Breiter
Professor Thomas Breiter joined the UWL Department of Mathematics in the fall of 1966 to teach math courses in the area of analysis at the freshman and sophomore levels. Dr. Breiter did his undergraduate work at Mankato State University, and graduate work at Ohio State. He taught at Ohio State a year following his graduation. Dr. Breiter came to La Crosse because he knew the region and it was close to his family and friends.
Dr. Breiter’s career spanned nearly 40 years. He retired as professor emeritus in 2005.
Tom and Mary-Alice established this endowed scholarship in 2016 to support math education majors.
Impact
The endowed fund will support future math teachers for generations to come. We are grateful to the Breiter family for their support.
