Shantel Hartzell
Shantel Hartzell established this scholarship in 2022. She graduated from UWL in 2019 earning a bachelor’s degree with a double major in accounting and finance. Shantell received several scholarships at UWL and was named the Jake and Janet Hoeshler Award for Excellence as the top-ranked graduating senior in the College of Business Administration.
Her time at UWL included involvement with the CBA Council of Presidents and leadership roles in Beta Alpha Psi. Shantel worked on campus in Rec Sports from 2016 thru 2019; first as a Customer Service Representative and was promoted to Intramural Sports Supervisor. She had internships at Reinhart Foodservice, BDO USA, and Baker Tilly.
Shantel has been with Performance Foodservice since 2020 and currently serves as an inventory accountant with their general ledger team. She started her career with Performance as a cash management accountant.
Impact
Shantell received the Ron Stratton Family Scholarship and one of the criteria for that scholarship is that a recipient should consider giving back to UWL within 20 years of their graduation from UWL. Shantell is doing that in just three short years since she left UWL. UWL is grateful for Shantel’s generosity in providing scholarship support to accounting majors.
