Ron and Jane Rada

Ron Rada joined UWL in 1975 after earning a Ph.D. from Montana State University. During his 30 year career, he served UWL as Professor of Biology and Microbiology, Director of the River Studies Center, Associate Dean of the College of Science and Health, and Interim Provost. He continues to serve the UWL Foundation in multiple roles. Jane is a retired faculty member of Western Technical College where she taught business courses and is a former member of the UWL Foundation Board of Directors. Ron and Jane are both lifetime educators who continue to so profoundly affect UWL and the La Crosse community through generous contributions of time, talent and financial resources. In addition to the Rada River Studies Center Fellowship for Environmental Studies, they have established the Rada Distinguished Alumni Award, the Margins of Excellence Challenge, the College of Science and Health Distinguished Programs Fund, as well as various other funds and scholarships that support students and faculty.

The Rada legacy will continue at UWL for generations to come through this endowed scholarship and their continuing support of many campus programs and projects.
